About Us

We are professional translators of English and Spanish and copy editors with great experience in several fields. We are accredited by several professional translation bodies ( IoL, ACEtt, and ITI).

We foster and maintain an excellent working rapport with all of our clients. In the 12 years dedicated to translation and copy-editing we have processed thousands of pages for institutions, translation agencies, businesses, universities, publishing houses, and individuals. Many of these have been published in various Spanish and English magazines and books, and others are used as promotional material. Luisa Fernández-Sierra

Luisa is a Spanish woman holding a diploma in translation from the Institute of Linguists, specializing in Science and Technology. She is an associate member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, UK, and member of the Official Spanish Association of Writers, Translators section, ACEtt. Her first choice of career was biology, which she studied for several years at the University of Granada, Spain. She lived in Great Britain for 7 years where she worked as information systems manager for a publishing house and as a Spanish teacher at a private school. In 1987 she made a career shift and established herself as a freelance translator. It is not possible to keep track of the many texts she has translated in the form of manuals, documents, and books. In collaboration with various agencies she has translated manuals and other material for companies such as Canon, Pioneer, and  Cochlear.  Direct clients include  Medtronic, Millipore  and institutions such as The Spanish Institute of Overseas Trade,  ICEX ,and the University of Málaga. She has great experience with Technical manuals  (printers, copiers, scanners);  Finance (export financing and related), Medical literature (medical equipment, endocrinology and related as well as complementary medicine), and the food industry. She also has experience in the field of localization.She regularly translates books into Spanish within the field of complementary medicine (homeopathy, herbalism, and nutrition)  and self-development.After their change of residence to the mountains of The Sierra Nevada (Las Alpujarras). Luisa is offering her language skills and knowledge of the local culture and law to the many people currently buying properties in the area or wanting to settle here.

She is interested in the world of Psychology, Management development and Life Sciences. She is deeply fascinated by the processes of how we learn, the mind, and the dynamic of human interaction. She also keeps up-to-date with the latest developments in translation and related issues.


Simon Coxon

Simon is British, with a degree in philosophy and psychology from the University of Leeds. Originally working for Barclays Bank's city-based computer centre, he moved into the world of publishing after gaining his degree, working as proof-reader and office manager for four years with CSP Publications. Following this he taught in a private school where he was responsible for classes ranging from logic to psychology, literature to astronomy, touching on sports, music, and humanities on the way.

Since moving permanently to Spain (where he gained his certificate in T.E.F.L.) he has dedicated his professional life to translating and copy editing, to which he brings the knowledge gathered from his wide-ranging life experience. He has translated and copy-edited innumerable papers and articles from various departments of the University of Málaga including Computer Science, Economics, Biology, Psychology, and Electrical Engineering to name a few. He is currently doing freelance copy-editing for the science journal publishers Springer-Verlag where he is a CE for the journals: Software Tools for Technology Transfer, International Journal on Digital Libraries; International Journal on Document Acquisition and Recognition; The Journal of Cancer Research and Clinical Oncology, and Intensive Care Medicine.

He has also translated some children's stories. Current work-in-progress includes articles from the departments of Economics, Psychology, and Computer Science (University of Málaga), articles on Biology (Doñana National Park Research Centre), and Medical and Computer Science articles (Springer-Verlag).

He loves playing a variety of musical instruments, reading and writing fiction, and snorkelling. But his secret passion is still psychology and philosophy...
